1. Los Angeles Lakers
For the sole purpose of landing a player like LaVine from the Bulls, the Lakers should continue to stack some draft assets. The Lakers didn’t make a big splash deal at the 2020 trade deadline, but they still remain in title contention nonetheless. Just because the Lakers didn’t add a bench piece or under-the-radar starter in the backcourt, it doesn’t mean they aren’t title contenders anymore.
If he were to go to the Lakers, there wouldn’t be much better for LaVine to learn under in terms of improving his court vision and shot selection inside the three-point arc than superstar LeBron James. Having fellow superstar and big man Anthony Davis to dump the ball into down low would be an absolute luxury for LaVine too.
LaVine could not only thrive alongside AD and LeBron if he were to go with the Lakers, but he could be a dynamic scoring guard that could completely upgrade a second unit. He would more than likely be a starter at the two for the Lakers, but he could mix in minutes to take some of the scoring pressure off the Lakers two superstars.
The most common theme among the three teams on this list that LaVine would be a good fit with is the trade pieces they could send to the Bulls in return. The Lakers actually have a few trades they could work with as long as they valued LaVine as much as he should be. Draft capital and a few talented names would have to be mixed into the discussions.
