2. Brooklyn Nets

Once the Nets get both superstar point guard Kyrie Irving and two-time NBA Champion and 10-time NBA All-Star forward Kevin Durant together next season, they will be a very dangerous team. But the Nets should be without the injured Durant until next season and they could still be looking to build up this roster heading into the 2020 offseason.

LaVine would be a good trade target from the Bulls if the Nets were to reach out (if they haven’t already). The Nets are going to need an upgrade at the two or the three if they are to really establish themselves as a title favorite next year. That will be especially true if KD takes a while to shake the rust off from missing so much time.

The two current starters for the Nets at the two and the three are small forward Caris LeVert and shooting guard Joe Harris. On most contenders, LeVert and Harris are usually solid supporting cast pieces off the bench. They aren’t a starting caliber duo at the two and the three for a team that is in title contention, unless the Nets land a star center.

There’s a lot of attractive future draft assets the Nets are working with heading into the 2020 offseason. That gives the Bulls a lot of trade options to send LaVine to a good landing spot if these discussions were to ever pick up. And a lot of the players on the Nets roster are still very young and valuable to a rebuilding team like the Bulls.
