Would one of the most willing trade partners in the NBA entering the 2020 deadline with the Chicago Bulls be the Los Angeles Lakers?
If they are to assume the role of sellers at the 2020 trade deadline, then the Chicago Bulls might be sending one of their more valuable trade chips out to a true title contender in the NBA this year. The Bulls are likely to exit the day of the trade deadline (Feb. 6) with a record of 19-34. They face Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans in their next game, which is on deadline day.
All the chips are lining up for the Bulls to play the role of seller at the 2020 trade deadline. They could compete for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but that wouldn’t make much sense at this point in time. The Bulls sit four games out of a playoff spot, despite sitting in the nine seed. The Orlando Magic are a hot streak away from really pulling away from the Bulls.
Hopefully this is the last year that the current front office and head coach get their chance during this rebuild. The patience is wearing thin with the Bulls fan base and the current staff at hand. They’re just not getting it done in the third year of this rebuild. Figuring out how to continually build this franchise up despite the disappointing regular season needs to be the focus of the deadline.
There’s not a whole lot of resources that the Bulls are likely to work with. But a team like the Los Angeles Lakers that are really pushing for a title this year could be a willing trade partner.
Here’s a look into three possible trade packages that could benefit both the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2020 deadline on Feb. 6.
