Which of the All-Star Reserves for the 2020 All-Star Game did the Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine deserve to get in over?
The All-Star Reserve selections were announced for both conferences in the NBA on Jan. 30. And one key player that was one of the biggest snubs from the Eastern Conference All-Star Reserves was Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine. As about the best hope that the Bulls had to be an All-Star this season, it was disappointing to not see LaVine’s name among the All-Star Reserves.
On a list of possible All-Star snubs from this year’s selections (thanks to Yahoo Sports), LaVine had his name mentioned. On that list was also he San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, and and Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George.
The other candidates that the Bulls seemingly had as potential All-Star selections this season are pretty much all injured at this point in time. Power forward Lauri Markkanen was a good candidate, as were center Wendell Carter Jr. and small forward Otto Porter Jr. OPJ has only played in nine games this season, and Lauri was one of the bigger letdowns of the regular season so far.
But LaVine really picked his play since about the 15-game mark this season. The Bulls would be much further out of the playoff picture in the East if not for the play of LaVine this season. He’s averaging He’s averaging 25.1 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 38.0 percent from three-point range.
