In this possible trade package with the Kings, the Chicago Bulls have to give up a lot to be able to land the former Oklahoma Sooners standout shooting guard Buddy Hield in return. The Bulls send out 6-foot-7 guard Tomas Satoransky along with the former Michigan State Spartans shooting guard Denzel Valentine to the Kings to snag Hield.
Would the Kings take a trade deal where they have to give up a player that they committed a good amount to re-sign last offseason?
Maybe not.
But the Bulls should at least give it a try since former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton isn’t giving near as much playing time to Hield of late. Shopping Hield might be a stretch for the Kings, but he isn’t meshing well with the supporting cast in Sacramento entering the second half of the 2019-20 regular season.
Hield is averaging 20.0 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, while shooting 41.9 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three-point land. His three-point shooting numbers are falling drastically compared to where they were at last season. Hield was one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA last season (hitting on more than 40 percent of his tries from downtown), but he’s trending closer to average for a volume scoring guard this year.
Sending two future second round draft picks might be enough to entice the Kings to part ways with Hield. Valentine and Satoransky are also two guards that could either be easily moved in the future or offer value to the Kings right now. The Bulls do have to send off forward Cristiano Felicio to the Kings along with cash considerations to get this deal done for salary matching purposes.
