Where should the focus lie for the Chicago Bulls as the 2021 NBA Draft starts to get more and more attention around the league?

It’s way too early to actually know who will be the first overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. But the Chicago Bulls look to be in this rebuild process at least until the 2021 offseason, which is set to have such a fruitful free agency cycle. That class of free agents includes the likes of the reigning NBA MVP forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Clippers superstar wing/forward Kawhi Leonard.

But with all the attention going to how shallow the 2020 NBA Draft class is at the top, turning the focus to what the 2021 group can do for us is worth following. The 2021 draft class looks a lot better at the top than 2020 does, largely thanks to the addition of top tier guards and more potent three-and-D wings.

The Bulls sit with a record of 17-30 after their Jan. 24 loss to the 16-win Sacramento Kings at home at the United Center by the final score of 98-81. Continuing down this path will get head coach Jim Boylen and the Bulls to a possible fourth straight seventh overall pick in the NBA Draft. That would really tire out Bulls fans if that were to transpire yet again.

John Paxson and Gar Forman need to figure out a new direction for this franchise. The third year of this rebuild isn’t going likely where they envisioned.

If GarPax doesn’t have a good direction in mind for the Bulls, then it’s time for a significant shakeup in the front office. That shakeup might need to happen in the front office and with the coaching staff either way.

Where could the Bulls go in their next two drafts if they land in the lottery again?

Here’s a look into the three most intriguing early 2021 NBA Draft targets for the Chicago Bulls six months ahead of the 2020 draft.
