2. Frontcourt injuries

Recovering from the injuries that the Chicago Bulls already dealt with this season is going to be more than difficult. The Bulls actually stayed pretty healthy through the first half of the 2019-20 regular season. But the fortunes of the Bulls in the injury department completely went down the drain come the second half of the regular season.

The first notable injury this season for the Bulls went to the former Washington Wizards small forward Otto Porter Jr. The wing depth really thinned out at the beginning of the season with how much time both Porter Jr. and second-year small forward Chandler Hutchison missed. But Hutch is back in the mix now.

Since then, the injuries to the Bulls top two centers made the biggest impact. But losing second-year center Wendell Carter Jr. is the most notable injury when he sprained his ankle in a road loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Carter Jr. is likely to return from his lower-body injury when OPJ does, after the All-Star Break.

At this point, the biggest void in the starting five is Markkanen. He limits the amount that the Bulls are able to space the floor with most of their rotations and Boylen really has to dig deep off the bench now. There is going to be a lot of playing time handed out to the likes of Luke Kornet and Cristiano Felicio at the moment.
