Chicago Bulls: 4 Thad Young-Kris Dunn trade packages with Clippers
If the Chicago Bulls literally want to move almost every piece that they could this season that was ever mentioned to be on the trade block, then this move makes sense. In this particular trade package, the Bulls are still parting ways with Dunn and Young along with shooting guard Denzel Valentine and small forward Chandler Hutchison.
The Bulls have to watch out since they pretty much lose all wing depth, but they do still pick up Harkless. And combo guard Landry Shamet can help out with outside shooting depth off the bench. Center Ivica Zubac is the really interesting addition in this potential trade package. He’s nearly got four win shares on the season and a 21.4 player efficiency rating thus far.
The salaries mostly match in this trade deal, and the Clippers don’t have to give up any part of their bench that would be too vital. Zubac is usually part of their starting five, but he’s not the most integral part of it. And Young could add into the starting five, moving Montrezl Harrell permanently to the five.
Shamet could really use a change of scenery, and head coach Doc Rivers could be just the presence that Zubac needed for a breakthrough. Adding in center and guard depth, to really bolster the shooting from range, is a good move for John Paxson and Gar Forman.
Why not go with this trade deal if the Clippers would be open to including additional pieces in the framework?
