2. Denzel Valentine, Shooting Guard
According to a report from Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Bulls could be looking to move fourth-year shooting guard Denzel Valentine this season. Any player that can facilitate an offense off the bench and shoot an efficient clip from three-point land, like Valentine can, should draw some eyes on the trade market.
The Bulls have Valentine in a contract year, so his price tag won’t be all that high for potential shooters. So far this season, Valentine is averaging 6.0 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, and one assist, while shooting 42.6 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three-point range. The field goal shooting percentage is lower than you would think for Valentine thanks to the pure volume of three-point attempts he’s taking.
This is another situation where the Bulls didn’t make the best use of a wing that fits decently well with the modern style of play in the NBA. The pace and space idea in the NBA benefits the offensive skill set of Valentine. He’s very capable of hitting his open shots from the outside and can facilitate the offense off the bench.
Valentine is also one of the few players on this entire Bulls roster that can create his own shots and hit them at a rather efficient clip. This is a hot discussion for a player that is likely getting around the same amount of attention on the trade market as Hutch.
