Since the Chicago Bulls didn’t have more than one second round draft pick last year, they were only able to nab Gafford. There’s nothing more to look at beyond the selection of Gafford on their end. But there’s a host of former 2019 second round draft picks that could be solid value gets for their respective teams, but haven’t had enough of a sample size yet.

KZ Okpala (Small Forward), Miami Heat

Draft slot: No. 32

The fit for the former Stanford Cardinal star forward KZ Okpala with head coach Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat should be a natural one. But Okpala has only played in three games with the Heat so far this season. His three-and-D wing potential with the Heat should make him a breakthrough candidate to watch if he gets a bigger role next season.

Talen Horton-Tucker (Small Forward), Los Angeles Lakers

Draft slot: No. 46

A player that the Bulls could’ve potentially considered for their second round 2019 draft pick at No. 38 overall is the former Iowa State Cyclones 6-foot-4 shooting guard/small forward Talen Horton-Tucker. The Chicago native wound up with the Los Angeles Lakers and has only played in two games this season.

Bol Bol (Center), Denver Nuggets

Draft slot: No. 44

The most prominent case of a player that no one knew where he would be selected in the 2019 NBA Draft but brings a star ceiling to the table is the former Oregon Ducks seven-footer and center Bol Bol. The injury concerns and long-term development plans for Bol kept him actually with the G-League Windy City Bulls for his season so far.
