Chicago Bulls: Ranking Daniel Gafford alongside 2019 second round picks
Notable undrafted free agents
The two players that the Bulls signed to two-way contracts, shooting guard/wings Max Strus and Adam Mokoka, were undrafted free agents in this rookie class. But neither has yet to really make an impact in the NBA. Strus will miss the rest of the season too with a lower-body injury.
Here’s a look at the most notable undrafted free agents from this rookie class so far.
Naz Reid (Power Forward), Minnesota Timberwolves
A great find for the Minnesota Timberwolves was former LSU Tigers big man Naz Reid. Averaging around eight points, 2.5 rebounds, and one assist per game, the versatility of Reid is being put on full display.
Tacko Fall (Center), Boston Celtics
Maybe the most high-profile of the undrafted free agents in this rookie class is the towering 7-foot-6 fan favorite Boston Celtics center Tacko Fall. He’s a huge part of the Celtics G-League roster (literally) and could get more playing time down the road.
Ky Bowman (Point Guard), Golden State Warriors
Head coach Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors were bound to get the most out of their depth players no matter what this season. The Warriors are riding on the backs of players like rookie point guard Ky Bowman this season, and finding value in this tanking process without their brightest stars on the court.
Terence Davis (Shooting Guard), Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors are making a theme out of finding tremendous value in the NBA Draft of late. That’s partly what helped them become NBA Champions last season. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard Terence Davis was yet another no-cost value find for the Raptors last year.
Dean Wade (Power Forward), Cleveland Cavaliers
A former Kansas State Wildcats veteran forward Dean Wade is posting big numbers in his seven games with the Cleveland Cavaliers so far. He’s shooting better than 66 percent from downtown and has a player efficiency rating above 16.0.
