2. Miami Heat
In this trade scenario, the Chicago Bulls try and upgrade their wing position since it is the most lacking portion of the rotation under Boylen this season. The injuries to small forwards Chandler Hutchison and Otto Porter Jr. that held them back throughout the bulk of the 2019-20 regular season really hampered this team all-around.
However, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea for the Bulls to make the move to send Young to South Beach to join up with head coach Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat. And Young could be with a true contender in the Eastern Conference along with a former Bulls star small forward and 2019-20 MVP contender Jimmy Butler.
The Heat have to be working on a plan to get “Jimmy G. Buckets” more help before the playoffs arrive. There’s solid pieces in the works with the Heat, but they’re magic might run out soon if they don’t upgrade their current roster. Young brings that veteran presence and spark plug off the bench that helps the Heat become more versatile against the top teams in the East.
It also helps the Heat that Young is one of the few forwards in the East that is capable of defending superstar Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
There’s a lot of larger contracts that the Heat have to match salaries with a team like the Bulls. The Heat could send a piece like the 23-year-old 6-foot-6 two-way small forward Justise Winslow to help the Bulls upgrade their wing depth. And former Stanford Cardinal small forward KZ Okpala could help the Bulls continue their rebuild project in its third year.
