4. Portland Trail Blazers

There’s more than just Thad that the Chicago Bulls might be working with on the trade block this season. If the Bulls front office so decides that turning over a lot of the bench is the best move for the long haul of this franchise, then go ahead and make that move. There has to be a willing trade partner involved, though.

Dealing with a trade partner like the Portland Trail Blazers that are also on the outside looking in for their respective playoff race in the other conference could mean a larger framework than with other teams. The Trail Blazers need to add depth in a lot of places, hence throwing in all the pieces from the Bulls that could make an immediate impact.

The Blazers get a defensive stopper in this trade package and help on the wing with a player that could provide more reliable outside shooting and offensive facilitation outside of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. The 6-foot-4 fourth-year shooting guard Denzel Valentine is a very intriguing fit with the Blazers.

But with injury troubles for most of the season to Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic, the addition of Young provides a very solid boost. All the relying on the recently signed former star power forward Carmelo Anthony could die down a bit. Head coach Terry Stotts could spread out the playing time between Young and Melo in the frontcourt rotation.
