The Philadelphia 76ers are already actively seeking out shooters that can help their floor spacing problem. And the Chicago Bulls might be providing them with another target to go after heading into the 2020 trade deadline. There’s not many players that would be easier to pry away, and have just one year left on a rookie contract, like Valentine.

Although the Sixers are one of the more talented teams in the East, they need help with outside shooting. And all the supporting pieces that Valentine would have around him in Philly keeps any defensive detriment he brings mostly at bay. Valentine was playing better defense when he was getting more playing time with the Bulls earlier this season.

So maybe a trend that keeps if Valentine lands with a team that emphasizes playing better defense through and through like the Sixers is his improved play on that end of the floor. Valentine would have the likes of forward Tobias Harris and 6-foot-10 point guard Ben Simmons surrounding him on defense night in and night out.

If the Sixers can find more shooters on the trade block this year, it could be scary what this offense could do. They are just treading water right now, and are having to stay on the right side of the win column without superstar center Joel Embiid in the starting five for most games this month. If the Sixers can heat up with the right pieces in place down the stretch, this could be a really good team in the East.
