Chicago Bulls Rumors: 4 possible Denzel Valentine trade destinations
Jumping ship on the 26-year-old Chicago Bulls shooting guard Denzel Valentine could bring a number of suitors to the table for trade talks.
Among the supporting cast that could form a third unit for head coach Jim Boylen and the Chicago Bulls, there are a few trade chips that can carry value around the 2020 deadline. Shooting guard Denzel Valentine is reportedly the first Bulls player that is openly on the trade block with just a month remaining before the deadline.
Valentine started to heat up with the Bulls when the wind depth started to thin out a bit. The Bulls still don’t have a fully healthy Chandler Hutchison back at small forward, and it could at least be All-Star Weekend next month before Otto Porter Jr. is recovered from the foot fracture he’s dealing with. But Boylen started to wind down the playing time Valentine was getting since the turn of the calendar year.
If the Bulls aren’t going to give a proper allotment of playing time to maximize his elevated play this season, then trading him might be the best move anyway. He could at least get a decent amount of trade value back from any suitor that needs wing depth, a sizable guard with good court vision, and outside shooting/floor spacing.
The skill set that Valentine brings to the table fits well in the modern NBA for any team that needs additional depth at the two guard. And he’s in the final year of his rookie contract, so it’s a low risk move to trade for him that could bring a decent reward.
Here’s a look into the four best potential landing spots for the Chicago Bulls fourth-year shooting guard Denzel Valentine if they were to trade him.
