At this point, the trade value that the volume scoring Denver Nuggets shooting guard Malik Beasley carries should still be more than Valentine for the Chicago Bulls. Beasley isn’t having his best season, but a change of scenery could do him very well. He’s a sharpshooter that can also play well off-ball on defense.

The Bulls definitely need a volume scoring guard that has a skill set like Beasley. That second unit for Boylen and the Bulls is just letting too many leads go during the stretch run of games this season. Someone that usually shoots better than 38 or 39 percent from three-point range for his career is a good addition if the Bulls aren’t going to utilize the skill set of Valentine.

If the Bulls were to make a deal with the Nuggets that saw Beasley make his way to the Windy City, then John Paxson and Gar Forman would probably have to throw something in like a second round pick. Beasley also brings that valuable playoff experience and savvy to the table that the Bulls don’t have much of on the roster right now.

The amount of win shares per 48 minutes that Beasley posted last season with the Nuggets is the version of him that the Bulls would be trying to reel back in. He registered more than .110 win shares per 48 minutes last season to go along with a nice 0.7 value over replacement player rating. That version of Beasley would be a welcome addition to this Bulls locker room.
