Both the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder sit in playoff contention for a lower seed in their respective conferences. For the Bulls, they have to start gaining ground on the Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets. The Bulls remain at least four games back of those two teams in the seventh and eighth spots in the standings in the East.
However, the Thunder are rolling right now and might grab an additional weapon or two to bolster their playoff chances out in the Western Conference. Two areas the Thunder really need an upgrade are frontcourt depth and outside shooting. But the focus with this trade package individually is outside shooting and wing depth.
Valentine would bring his three-point shooting clip that sits around 39 percent on the season to OKC where he could get the opportunity to shoot more than 73 times from beyond the arc in the other half of the regular season.
This really works out well for both sides, especially considering what the Bulls get in return for Valentine.
The big names that are considered to be tradeable from the Thunder includes star veteran point guard Chris Paul, maxed out center Steven Adams, and volume scoring point guard Dennis Schroder. But the Bulls make the move here to trade for an underrated piece deeper down the Thunder bench, and the reigning Slam Dunk Contest Champion. Shooting guard Hamidou Diallo could be a really nice fit with the Bulls.
