Chicago Bulls: 3 underrated possible 2020 trade deadline targets
If the Chicago Bulls are looking to fill a need in the backcourt, then search no further than the Denver Nuggets and the 6-foot-4 shooting guard Malik Beasley. That is if the Nuggets are willing to make a deal with the Bulls.
The problem with the Nuggets making a deal with the Bulls in the first place is the fact that they might be looking to land a piece like LaVine or Markkanen. The Nuggets really need scoring help alongside the likes of MVP contending center Nikola Jokic. This is a team that is going to be looking to reel in a big fish before the trade deadline if they make any moves.
And the Nuggets don’t need all this scoring guard depth if it’s not going to help Jokic reach the next level and get this team in contention with others in the Western Conference like the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Houston Rockets. The Nuggets seem to be the next team up in the West in that tier of teams.
So far this season, Beasley is averaging 7.1 points per game, 1.6 rebounds, and one assist, while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from beyond the arc. His free-throw shooting percentage is up, but his overall efficiency from the field is down. He’s still taking a high-volume of shots, but finding more of a scoring guard role off the bench where more of the primary offense will be in his hands could benefit Beasley.
