Scouting Report. PER: 16.5. 3. Pick Analysis. Forward. Davis Bertans. player. 142

The Washington Wizards pulled off a trade deal with the Chicago Bulls last season at the deadline. That deal sent OPJ to the Bulls in exchange for the forward duo of Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker. The Bulls also made the sign-and-trade deal to land 6-foot-7 guard Tomas Satoransky from the Wizards last offseason.

Both Portis and Parker could be on the move again this year. But the Bulls shouldn’t be going after either of them. And both Portis and Parker are no longer on the Wizards roster. Portis is now with the New York Knicks and Parker with the struggling Atlanta Hawks.

Outside of star shooting guard Bradley Beal, the player on the Wizards roster that offer the Bulls the most value is sharpshooting 6-foot-10 forward Davis Bertans. The former San Antonio Spurs standout Bertans was about as hot as any three-point shooter at the outset of the 2019-20 regular season. He’s cooled down since, but he’s still shooting around 44 percent from downtown.

So far this season, Bertans is averaging 15.4 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and posting just over two win shares. The fact that Bertans has more than two win shares on a team as bad as the Wizards is a testament to the breakthrough season he is having in a more wide open offensive scheme at 27-years-old.

If the Bulls could come close to replicating the number of open looks Bertans is getting from beyond the arc this season, he would come in handy in the Windy City.
