First quarter

Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine scored with his first two shot attempts. In doing so, the Bulls went on a 5-0 run just north of the 9-minute mark.

The Celtics had no immediate answer for what they faced.

LaVine went on to score all of the Bulls’ first 8 points. He also made it happen efficiently, which is key to the team’s success moving forward. He went 4-for-4 from the three-point line just north of the 7-minute mark.

The Celtics trailed the Bulls by as many as 12 points at one point during this stretch of time.

All of a sudden, the momentum started to shift. It became a 4-point game with the Bulls leading the Celtics just north of the 3-minute mark.

To the Bulls’ dismay, credit goes to Celtics stars Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum and Enes Kanter for the way they played. The team went on to claim their first lead of the game just north of the 2-minute mark.

The Bulls turned to stop the bleeding on back-to-back possessions with points scored by both rookie Coby White and point guard Kris Dunn.

Still, the Celtics led the Bulls at the end of the first quarter 30-28.
