As long as the Chicago Bulls would be confident that they could get the most value possible out of the former Golden State Warriors sharpshooting 6-foot-1 point guard and a 2017-18 NBA Champion Quinn Cook, this trade package could be worth it. GarPax is taking a risk here by sending out a future first round draft pick, but the return of Kuzma and Cook is still solid.

Cook is shooting just shy of 32 percent from beyond the arc this season, and his player efficiency rating is sitting around 7.8. Despite his poor three-point shooting so far this season, Cook is still around a 41 percent career shooter from downtown. That law of averages is going to work back in Cook’s favor if he lands in a more beneficial situation to his individual efficiency, instead of next to LeBron with the Lakers.

There’s still a chance that the Lakers see Cook rebound down the stretch, but they might also jump ship on him if there’s better value they can get elsewhere by sending him out of LA. But it’s not that much risk the Lakers are taking on by shipping out Cook, especially with the interest that veteran point guard Darren Collison has in playing there.

If the Lakers were somehow able to work out a deal where the Bulls send them a future first round draft pick along with Dunn and the struggling former New York Knicks big man Luke Kornet, it would be good for both sides. The Bulls can ditch Kornet since he can’t find his rhythm in his first season in the Windy City, and they replace the depth by landing Kuzma.
