3. Eric Mika, Center
Current Team: Free Agent
The last team that the former Sacramento Kings 6-foot-10 center Eric Mika played for during his professional basketball career was Xinjiang. That report that Xinjiang released Mika from his contract in the Chinese Basketball Association after just seven games played with that team came courtesy of the Twitter timeline of Emiliano Carciah.
However, the last NBA opportunity that the 24-year-old Mika received came with the Kings when he signed an Exhibit-10 contract back in August 2019. But the Kings waived him less than two months later, as the NBA started to head into its Training Camp and preseason phase.
In the past, Mika had Las Vegas NBA Summer League stints with the Kings and Miami Heat. He also played in one Kings preseason game last year. He also averaged around 20 points per game and 12 rebounds in his brief stint in the CBA this season.
But the former BYU Cougars big man averaged more than 20 points per game, 10 rebounds, and two blocks during his final season in college. His big frame, solid paint presence, and good two-way ability that he put on display in college should be able to get Mika some NBA attention at this 10-day contract deadline.
The G-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, the Stockton Kings, also saw Mika put forward a dominant set of numbers in the post in six games with nearly 20 points per game and 15.8 rebounds. Mika is definitely worth a look for a 10-day contract slot from the Chicago Bulls.
