Chicago Bulls: 4 best trades made over the last decade
A rough decade for assembling rosters around their stars for John Paxson and Gar Forman of the Chicago Bulls did have a couple of positive trade deals.
The Chicago Bulls front office took a lot of fire over the course of the last decade. This past decade came with a lot of ups and downs in the Windy City, but the Bulls aren’t going to finish on a high-note. In the third year of this rebuild, the Bulls are on the outside looking in for the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. And they ended the decade with a convincing 123-102 loss at home at the United Center, against the red hot Central Division foe Milwaukee Bucks.
This decade for the Bulls was rounded out as the 2019-20 regular season was 34 games in. The Bulls carry a record of 13-21 after those first 34 games, which puts them more than two games out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference race.
However, the entire decade for the Bulls definitely had its roller coaster moments. This past decade started out well for the Bulls, with then rising superstar point guard Derrick Rose winning his first and only MVP trophy. He was the youngest MVP in the history of the NBA to that point. D-Rose was also the first true superstar to grace the Windy City since the end of the Michael Jordan-era.
It is unfortunate how John Paxson and Gar Forman weren’t really able to piece together a complete roster over the last decade, at least outside of D-Rose. They did their best to trade and rebuild this team with the Jimmy Butler trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2017, but that has not panned out well so far.
Here’s a look into the definitive ranking of the four best trades that the Chicago Bulls made over the course of the last decade.
