5. Luol Deng
Luol Deng was a solid contributor to the Bulls organization and is beloved by many fans. He was a constant professional not only on the court but also off the court.
Some of Deng’s accolades include receiving the Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award, two All-Star nods, All-Rookie first team honors and All-Defensive second team honors.
At age 34, Deng became the latest to sign a ceremonious one-day contract to retire as a Bull, which makes perfect sense. He will be long remembered for the role he played with Bulls in particular. Deng was a member of the Bulls’ roster that reached the Eastern Conference Finals years ago.
Aside of the Bulls, Deng played for the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers.
The Bulls originally acquired Deng in a 2004 trade from the Phoenix Suns. About that time, he played a good part in bringing relevancy back to Bulls basketball.
As his career statistics show, Deng averaged 14.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He also played a lot of minutes proving he is very durable. Deng ranked among the Top 20 for minutes played during the 2006-07, 2010-11 and 2012-13 seasons.
Deng officially announced his retirement earlier this fall. He has a 0.9% chance of being named to the Hall of Fame.
