Top 10 Chicago Bulls of the decade
9. Ben Gordon
After three years of collegiate basketball at the University of Connecticut, Ben Gordon spent 11 seasons in the league upon getting selected by Bulls with the No. 3 pick of the 2004 draft.
Gordon played a part in bringing some relevancy to the Bulls in the years after the dynasty had ended. Among the notable accolades he garnered include being named to the All-Rookie first team for the 2004-05 season and earning the Sixth Man of the Year award for the 2004-05 season.
Gordon’s time in Chicago came to an end during 2009 free agency when he signed a huge multi-year deal with the Detroit Pistons. Aside of the Bulls and the Pistons, Gordon played for the Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats and the Orlando Magic.
During his professional career, Gordon averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. The numbers might seem underwhelming considering his success with the Bulls. Unfortunately, it is in Chicago where Gordon primarily garnered his best statistical seasons.
The good news is it appears that Gordon’s time with the Bulls is not over. During training camp this fall, he made an appearance as a special guest.
Interestingly enough, many people like to draw comparisons between Gordon and Coby White. As such, I think Gordon will undoubtedly be tied to the Bulls in some shape or form for many years to come.
Much like Kirk Hinrich, Gordon has a 0.1 percent probability of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
