3. Royce O’Neale, Small Forward
Current Team: Utah Jazz
Although it might not seem like it would be a wise move for the Chicago Bulls to trade for an undersized wing like the Utah Jazz small forward Royce O’Neale, all the boxes he checks to fill various needs for Boylen would be too much to pass up on. O’Neale would add yet another 6-foot-4 player to the perimeter defense of the Bulls.
But his jump in rebounding, assist, and shooting numbers this season are all very good aspects for the Bulls to look at. Not only would O’Neale provide another solid floor spacer for the Bulls, he could be a secondary ball handler that they refer to with a second or third unit off the bench.
O’Neale is shooting around 46 percent from downtown and 49 percent from the field this season. His shooting efficieincy skyrocketed over the course of his first three seasons in the NBA. And his progression only seems to continue as his role with the Jazz grows larger and larger. Pretty much every per game average is up this season compared to last.
Since the Jazz are in a funk after their latest Eastern Conference road trip, they might try and roll the dice with a trade to shake up their roster. Something has to give with all the talent and depth they have. Maybe the Bulls could send off a player that isn’t off to a good start this season, or a guard like a Kris Dunn.
