South Carolina. player. Scouting Report. Guard. A.J. Lawson. 31. 41. Pick Analysis

South Carolina’s A.J. Lawson has not had the start that he had hoped for. Although he has improved from his freshman season, these improvements have been ever so subtle. He is currently averaging 15.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 43% from the field and 32% from deep. His jumper still does not look good, but he still has time to improve his game this season.

The reason why Golden State would be intrigued by Lawson with their second round pick is because of the upside play. The Warriors bench has become more and more depleted since the arrival of Kevin Durant, and Lawson would be a nice start to retooling it.

32. 27. Marquette. Markus Howard. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Guard

Adding as much talent to this atrocious Knicks squad is the name of the game, and adding Markus Howard to the mix would be a wise decision. Much like Carsen Edwards and Cassius Winston, Howard is a player who has found a lot of success in college, but has done so inefficiently. As an undersized guard, he will likely fall to the same area in the draft that Edwards did last season.

In his junior season at Marquette, the twenty-year-old is averaging 26 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game on 42% shooting from the field and 44% from deep. Howard projects to be a better player than Edwards will be in Boston, which is an exciting thought for the Knicks in the second round.

Duke. 93. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Guard. Wendell Moore. 33. player

(Pick Via Atlanta Hawks)

Considered by many to be a shoo-in first round talent, Wendell Moore has failed to impress in his short time at Duke. Moore is no-doubt an athletic player, this coupled with his ability to play a point forward position is a valuable skill set that the NBA is looking for. His shooting will need to improve mightily if he wishes to find success at the professional level. The 76ers could take a gamble on him here in the second and hope that he pans out into a valuable bench weapon going forward.

This season in Durham, Moore is averaging 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1,9 assists, and 1 steal on 43% shooting from the field and 33% from range. His minutes have been quite limited to 22 per game, which is a major reason for his low level of production. If he wants to raise his draft stock back into the first round, he must improve his atrocious jumper.
