A lot of coaching mistakes for the Chicago Bulls from head coach Jim Boylen will continue to cost this team in the win column.
While the Chicago Bulls did rack up a nice win on Dec. 2 on the road over the Sacramento Kings, it doesn’t come close to repairing the damage done by their 7-14 start through the first quarter of the regular season.
Bulls head coach Jim Boylen should take a lot of the blame for why this team isn’t finding much success. The criticism that comes Boylen’s way is transparent at this point. The fans don’t have a liking for Boylen, and that became clear once the Bulls got off to such a poor start this season.
Most over/unders for the win totals for the Bulls prior to the regular season tipping off had them around 33.5-37 wins. The Bulls aren’t on pace to even reach the 33-win mark this season. They would have to play around .500 basketball for the remainder of the season to reach the point of 36 or 37 wins. Even in the shallow Eastern Conference, that would still be pushing it for making the eight seed to get into the playoffs.
John Paxson and Gar Forman announced their intentions on the Bulls media day that the playoffs were the goal. But the playoffs should be the last thing on the minds of the front office, coaches, and players right now. Getting back on track to at least tread water in the Central Division standings should be the first priority.
If the Bulls can’t climb out of the cellar in the division standings, then they definitely won’t be making the playoffs. And with the Orlando Magic winning their game against the Washington Wizards on Dec. 3, the Bulls move three games out of the eight seed in the East.
Here’s a look into the three most egregious coaching errors by the Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen so far this season.
