Sixth man: Luol Deng, Small Forward (2004-2014)
16.1 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 2.5 APG, 58.4 WS, 15.9 PER
The numbers listed above are from the entire decade that legendary small forward Luol Deng spent with the Chicago Bulls. Whether it be from his production from the entire tenure he had in the Windy City, or just between 2010-2014, he would be considered for this All-Decade Team.
There is one small forward that sticks out above Deng, which is why he’s slotted as the sixth man instead of the starting wing. This two-time All-Star selection and 2012 All-Defensive Team honoree is more than deserving of plenty of recognition for his service in a Bulls uniform. Of his 58.4 career win shares with the Bulls, Deng racked up more than 32 of them on defense.
Deng also compiled an 18.3 value over replacement player rating, which is one of the 15 best total in franchise history. He was also a reliable shooter (46 percent career from the field with the Bulls) and a defensive force. He averaged one steal per game during his tenure with the Bulls and had a career 1.0 defensive box plus/minus rating with this team.
Earlier this season, the Bulls honored Deng with a ceremony before his former teammate D-Rose and the Detroit Pistons at the United Center.
This long-time Bull was dealt to the Central Division foe Cleveland Cavaliers before the end of the 2013-14 season. He never made his return to the Bulls, until he signed a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of this team.
