The Chicago Bulls did no wrong by picking Coby at No. 7 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. He’s done well for the Bulls thus far, and arguably won them two of their six games. In absolute scorching second half outings in the scoring department for White against the Grizzlies and the Knicks, he scored 20+ points off the bench and pushed the Bulls to wins on each occasion.
The overall production and efficiency from White thus far isn’t the most impressive, but Boylen and the Bulls need him for volume scoring off the bench right now more than anything. And that’s exactly what White is providing for them early in his rookie season.
White is picking up his three-point shooting and field goal percentages of late. He’s shooting roughly 38 percent from the field and 34 percent from beyond the arc. His player efficiency rating also just climbed up over 11.0.
Compile all that while averaging 13.6 points per game, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists and you get a solid rookie campaign out of White so far. If he continues this uphill trek in the way of his development, watch out as he could become a stronger and stronger candidate as we move down the stretch this season.
The verdict isn’t out on the Bulls selection of White as of yet, but it appears sticking with him in this redraft is by far the best way to go.
