2. Anthony Edwards, Shooting Guard
Current Team: Georgia
Now, I can move into the clear top two prospects early on in the NBA Draft 2020 scouting process. I’ll begin with the 6-foot-5 shooting guard and superstar Georgia Bulldogs freshman Anthony Edwards.
As the former top rated 2020 high school prospect in the nation, Edwards wound up reclassifying to the 2019 class after he committed to Georgia.
It’s too early into college basketball’s regular season for the jury to be out on these top two prospects going in that order come next year’s draft. But Edwards did enough with the Georgia basketball program thus far to show that he should be one of the top two picks in next year’s draft.
Edwards will be one of the youngest, but one of the most promising, players in this draft class. He’s averaging 19.7 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists through just three games with the Dawgs. That production should continue as Edwards is one of the flat out most talented players on any team in the SEC.
Moreover, Edwards could be an elite two-way talent that has a superstar-level ceiling in the NBA. His insane athleticism and well-rounded game on both ends of the floor should allow him to make an immediate impact at a young age after he’s selected come the 2020 NBA Draft.
