2. Tomas Satoransky, Combo Guard
If the Chicago Bulls could get another player to step up outside of any of the wings in the rotation (like Hutchison or the 6-foot-6 Denzel Valentine), the backcourt is the place to search. And the most sizable guard that is getting regular playing time and coming up with inconsistent numbers so far is the former Wizards 6-foot-7 combo guard Tomas Satoransky.
There were a handful of outbursts out of Satoransky that helped the Bulls, including his 27-point outing in an eventual double-digit road win over the Atlanta Hawks. But there were also a good amount of games where Satoransky faded into the darkness and really didn’t make an impact for the Bulls at all.
So far this season, Satoransky is actually averaging 0.5 less points per game and 0.1 less assists than he did with the Wizards last year. And while he is shooting at a very solid 45.5 percent clip from three-point range, he needs to be more assertive when he has open looks. He’s only taking 2.5 three-point attempts per game at the moment.
A really high turnover rate, well above 20 percent, combined with a huge decrease in offensive and defensive ratings highlight the lack in consistency and confidence in his tenure in a Bulls uniform thus far. But there is ample time to turn that around and maybe he can find higher usage and more efficient production in the absence of a usual starter like Porter Jr.
