7. Coby White

Coby White has had his fair share of ups and downs through his first 10 NBA games.

In the second game of the season, Coby had a statement night. He scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. He also added six rebounds, two assists and didn’t turn the ball over once. He was a +15 in 30 minutes of action and was a huge reason why the Bulls came away with a 110-102 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Fellow rookie point guard Ja Morant has (understandably) been more impressive than White this season, but when the two squared off, White looked much, much better. It was fun to see.

Coby’s been used primarily as an off-ball player this season, but I think that’s a mistake. Instead of having him try to be Jamal Crawford off the bench, I’d like to see him in a playmaking role. He’s an underrated passer, he’s good in the pick-and-roll, and the Bulls should be grooming him to be the point guard of the future, not a shoot-first sixth man.

His numbers aren’t great, but he’s passed the eye test for the first 10 games with flying colors. White looks like he’ll be a star in the near future.
