The wing need that the Chicago Bulls look to have a dire need to fill could be completed through the 2020 NBA Draft if it is still lingering around at that point. If the Bulls are looking for a value get in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft, or if they trade down late in the first round, then these two players that are first up on the list could be good options.
At the moment, the Bulls don’t have anything to fill the pure wing depth need they have outside of small forwards Otto Porter Jr. and Chandler Hutchison. But by no means does Hutchison look to be a good long-term wing solution. This is where the Bulls could bring the Colorado Buffaloes junior small forward Tyler Bey into play.
Last season, Bey was on the cusp of finding a good slotting in the 2019 NBA Draft. But it was better for him to return to school for one more year to really round out his game. The 6-foot-6 Bey has a lengthy wingspan and is a reliable presence on both ends of the floor. His efficiency on the defensive end could be measured by a career 4.0 defensive box plus/minus rating.
Bey would fit the mould that the Bulls drafted for more out of Hutchison than it did for a more raw prospect like a one-and-done small forward. If the Bulls want to find a more polished wing that could have a steady draft stock this season, then Bey might be the way to go. He would more than likely fall as a late first round pick or early in the second round.
