Who else to watch?

The Chicago Bulls do always have a chance to land at or near the top of the draft lottery if they’re among the 14 teams in consideration for the first overall pick. The way the NBA flattened the draft lottery odds made it so there was a lot larger possibility that any team among the 14 could get the first overall pick, likely to prevent consistent tanking. Hence why the New Orleans Pelicans nabbed the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

James Wiseman, Memphis

The former No. 1 overall recruit in the nation, five-star Memphis Tigers center James Wiseman, is going to be a highly sought after name come the 2020 NBA Draft. There was a big debacle surrounding the eligibility of Wiseman with head coach Penny Hardaway and the Memphis basketball program, but he made his season debut late last week.

Anthony Edwards, Georgia

Since the top two picks in the 2020 NBA Draft could easily be either Wiseman or the Georgia Bulldogs 18-year-old freshman sensation guard Anthony Edwards, the Bulls might not want to think it’s too realistic to land them. Granted the Bulls aren’t in great position at the moment to be inspired about their playoff chances.

Edwards had a very nice season debut with Georgia in a win over the Western Carolina Catamounts.

LaMelo Ball, NBL

Different from the reasons why the Bulls should look elsewhere due to their high draft stock, point guard LaMelo Ball will have a very volatile stock in the months leading up to the 2020 NBA Draft. The Bulls should shy away from putting too much attention and focus into potentially drafting Ball before he proves he can shoot more consistently.
