1. Nate Tibbets

Current Position: Portland Trail Blazers

Head Coaching Record: N/A

Digging deeper toward the assistant coaching candidates around the NBA that would make good head coaches for the Chicago Bulls is a tough task. Fleming would be a quality head coaching candidate if he continues to prove himself as an assistant at the level he’s at now.

Moreover, if the Bulls could land a head coach like Terry Stotts, that would be absolutely fantastic. But the Bulls could try and lure away one of his best assistant coaches with the Trail Blazers. Nate Tibbetts had successful assistant coaching tenures during his time with the Blazers and the Cavaliers, dating back to 2011.

Tibbetts is brilliant at scheming up the offensive looks for his talented backcourt rotation in Portland. The ties back with programs in the Midwest and out West, like with North Dakota State, should draw the attention of GarPax. They love to draw from areas like that geographically.

Tibbetts should be considered more of a rising star in the NBA coaching ranks. It shouldn’t be all that long before he gets his shot at a head coaching job. The Bulls would be much smarter to give Tibbetts a shot at this head coaching job than they did by extending Boylen.
