15. Cristiano Felicio, Power Forward/Center
There’s a good chance that the rest of the NBA would view the Chicago Bulls 6-foot-10 and 270 pound 27-year-old big man Cristiano Felicio as less valuable in a trade package then both of their players on two-way contracts. Felicio is making slightly over $8 million per year, granted it will come off the books pretty soon.
Through a handful of preseason games, Boylen was forced to start Felicio at the five due to various injury issues in the frontcourt rotation. But he has yet to play in a single game so far this season thanks to the improved depth at the four and the five. That’s a good thing for the Bulls chances to make the playoffs at the moment.
However, the 2-4 record the Bulls carry into a Nov. 3 matchup on the road at Bankers Life Fieldhouse against the Central Division foe Indiana Pacers isn’t the best start to the season. We will be going on seven games during the 2019-20 campaign without having Felicio play in a single minute of game action for Boylen.
If the Bulls do continue to improve off the big Nov. 1 win at home at the United Center over a fellow divisional opponent with the Detroit Pistons, then not playing Felicio could be better and better.
While Felicio was coming off a nice stint with Brazil in the FIBA World Cup during the NBA offseason, none of that really translated through Training Camp or the preseason. He seems like the type of player the Bulls could waive and stretch within the next six or eight months.
