8. Kris Dunn, Point Guard
If there was any player for the Chicago Bulls that is coming off the bench this season that proved he should still carry a good amount of trade value if he continues to stay on the block, it’s fourth-year point guard Kris Dunn.
The Providence Friars product and the former top 10 2016 draft pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves is performing well in his newfound role off the bench and in the final year of his rookie contract. If Dunn works out well for whatever team he finishes the season with, then he could be re-signed. But it’s not bad to let him hit free agency if not.
Dunn sitting in the midst of a contract year and still carrying a pretty low price tag would make him a very attractive potential trade target for any NBA team that needs a lengthy perimeter defender down the stretch. If the Bulls are out of the playoff picture completely in the Eastern Conference come February, expect them to try and shop Dunn around.
The low-risk, high-reward potential that Dunn brings as a situational point guard off the bench should be very appealing. It seems like this newfound role for him under Boylen is working well. He is also combining with some of the new additions to this Bulls roster quite nicely at the outset of the 2019-20 regular season.
