1. Take a chance on a player that can pan out for the long haul
Given the lack of depth on the free agent market right now, the Chicago Bulls would be taking a pretty big risk within these circumstances on a wing. The Bulls had their chance at the back end of the month of July to land a bigger free agent wing. But that time has now past and they would really have to dig deep to find a diamond in the rough.
A name that could be good for the Bulls to work off of is the former Minnesota Golden Gophers double-double machine and 6-foot-7 small forward Jordan Murphy. Speaking of a player who used to thrive in the Big Ten in college hoops, Murphy could be a nice addition for the Bulls. But that is a long shot.
Two other names that could be worth reaching out for the Bulls are the former Clemson Tigers wing Jaron Blossomgame and Javon Bess. Blossomgame is 26-years-old, so he is older than most with his experience levels, but he still has a good amount of untapped potential. Bess is a better shooter and defender than most at 23-years-old on the free agent market.
The Bulls made a nice move last season in bringing in point guard Ryan Arcidiacono who started in the G-League and worked his way up. Arcidiacono is a legitimately productive third unit guard, and is on a contract worth just $3 million per year for three total years. Could GarPax do the same with a younger wing?
