4. Trust from within
There’s not much trustworthy depth it appears for the Chicago Bulls either deeper down the bench or with the G-League affiliate Windy City Bulls. If Chicago was to turn to the G-League for help, the first name that pops to mind is a player that sat with the Las Vegas Summer League team and is on a two-way contract, French 6-foot-5 shooting guard Adam Mokoka.
During the preseason, Mokoka ran with the third and fourth units for the Bulls. He was one of the better Bulls players from the Vegas Summer League and played fine in the minutes he got in game action in the preseason. But there is still a lot left to be desired for Mokoka on both ends of the floor.
The Windy City Bulls regular season schedule doesn’t tip off until Nov. 8, so there will be a while until a player like Mokoka will be in game action next. But Boylen seemed to like what he brought to the table during the offseason. He could be trusted enough to be the 15th man on the bench if it were to reach that point.
Another route that Boylen could turn to from within is the former Michigan State Spartans fourth-year shooting guard Denzel Valentine. Since the other two-way contract slot for the Bulls won’t be much help to the wing depth, with newly signed guard Max Strus, Valentine and Mokoka might be the two next-best options from within.
