With a weakened Eastern Conference and a stroke of luck, the Chicago Bulls could find their way into the 2019-20 NBA Playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Here are 5 keys to making a strong playoff push in 2019-20.

The Chicago Bulls had a very promising offseason. With the additions of Tomas Satoransky, Thaddeus Young, Luke Kornet and rookies Coby White and Daniel Gafford, the new look Bulls showed exciting flashes of success during Summer League and preseason play. The big question is what should fans expect when it comes playoff time this spring?

After a grueling 2018-19 campaign chock full of injuries, misery, and way too much Cameron Payne, Bulls fans are eager for an exciting year. With all of the shakeup and drama this offseason, headlined by a Kawhi Leonard-less defending champion Raptors, the Bulls could see themselves sliding into a seventh or eighth seed playoff spot if things go their way.

There’s a lot of things that need to go right after finishing with a record of 22-60 last season, good for fourth worst in the whole entire association. However, if the preseason was any indication, the Bulls are headed in the right direction so far.

The team ranked dead last in three-point field goals made and total offensive rebounds last year and fourth worst in assists and total points. In just five preseason games this year, the Bulls showed off some greatly improved team passing, a perimeter focused offense, and very well-rounded play from the two players the Bulls need the most in Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen.

Granted many preseason minutes were against of bench and G-League type rotations, but the team showed promise nonetheless.

The Bulls will need to put up a strong showing every night and a whole lot more to claim a playoff spot. Here’s a look a 5 keys for the Bull to make a strong playoff push in the 2019-20 season.
