3. Zach LaVine shoots 40 percent from beyond the arc
The floor spacing for the Chicago Bulls this season should be much more competent than it was last. With the recently extended Boylen at the helm along with a rejuvenated coaching staff around him, the offense looks much more capable just ahead of the start of the upcoming regular season.
However, most eyes will be falling on LaVine this season in terms of how this Bulls team is able to space the floor and what the shot selection looks like. The impact that former Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Chris Fleming had thus far in joining the Bulls staff is apparent. LaVine shot a wild 56 percent from beyond the arc in the preseason.
We shouldn’t expect LaVine to continue hitting his looks from three-point range at a mark near or above 50 percent (obviously), but getting closer to 40 could be realistic. Better shot selection from LaVine and less pressure on his shoulders to be the only Bulls player to consistently produce on offense could lead to this coming to fruition.
LaVine shot around 39 percent from three-point range in his second and third seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves a few years back. Getting that number to that mark would do wonders for this Bulls offense this season. Basketball Reference also projects LaVine to take an incremental step to getting to around 38 percent from three-point range in 2019-20.
