Game 4: New York Knicks
Date: Oct. 28
Location: Madison Square Garden (New York City, NY)
A game with real intrigue surrounding it for the Chicago Bulls comes against the New York Knicks on Oct. 28. The Bulls get two-day rest after their first loss of the regular season that came against the Raptors at home. This is a good chance for them to come out with a strong response against the rebuilding Knicks.
The Bulls face two prominent former members of the team that recently signed with the Knicks with a pair of big men, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis. The Knicks are going to rely on Portis and Julius Randle in the frontcourt to try and top their historic rival. But LaVine and Satoransky are too stingy to let the Bulls fall behind to the Knicks here.
One of the more interesting showdowns in this game involves rookie wing R.J. Barrett as he faces off against LaVine at the two spot. LaVine and Barrett battle and both lead their respective teams in scoring (65 points combined). This sees LaVine come up with a season-high thus far with 33 of those 65 points that he and Barrett combined for.
The fourth quarter sees the Bulls run away with their biggest win of the season to date. Madison Square Garden starts showing boos on the Knicks as they fall behind by a 30-point margin at one point mid-way through the final quarter. This is a thoroughly dominant win for the Bulls and gives them a lot of momentum heading into October’s final game.
