5. Coby White starts every game

Considering that the Chicago Bulls shouldn’t be putting too much pressure on the shoulders of the former North Carolina Tar Heels freshman sensation point guard Coby White, the preseason will be an interesting stint for the rookie. Since the Bulls have a host of players that could get spotty playing time in this five game preseason slate, it’s hard to figure out where Coby fits into the mix.

White should get at least two or three starts realistically in the preseason. But he might only get two or three starts through the entirety of his rookie season. And that might not necessarily be a bad thing. The Bulls have a lot of depth at point guard and Ryan Arcidiacono might be a more effective starter this season than Coby.

There was a lot of leadership and command of the floor that White showed in the Las Vegas Summer League. But his state line didn’t reflect that same trend that the highlight reels might’ve showed on White’s behalf. He shot just 10 percent from three-point range and turned the ball over more than he should’ve.

There’s no single player that could be more beneficial to give playing time to in what is mostly a meaningless five-game slate in the preseason than White. He would get to likely face fellow rookies like wing Cam Reddish and forward Zion Williamson in spots since the Bulls face the Pelicans and Hawks. He could also get more settled into playing in the United Center night in and night out.
