Wendell Carter Jr.

2018 stats: 10.3 PPG, 7.0 RPG, .485% 3PT

Players Rankings and Average Draft Positions

Position(s): C (Yahoo), PF (ESPN)

Overall Rank: 63rd (ESPN), 75th (Yahoo)

Center Rank: 25th (ESPN), 31st (Yahoo)

Average Draft Pick: 82nd (Yahoo), 108th (ESPN)

Carter Jr.’s season ended after a thumb injury limited him to 44 games. His rookie campaign looked promising and he’s stated he wants to shoot and play more around the perimeter for this season. The Bulls offense is changing and so is the center position. If Carter can consistently hit mid-range shots and have a post-game, his 10 points, and seven boards a night should improve. His ceiling is high but with a team that needs to build chemistry, Carter Jr. is best drafted after the sixth round.

Otto Porter Jr

2018 stats: 17.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 48.8% 3PT

Players Rankings and Average Draft Positions

Position(s): SF, PF

Overall Rank: 55th (Yahoo), 61st (ESPN)

Small Forward: 7th (ESPN), 9th (Yahoo)

Average Draft Pick: 36th (Yahoo), 80th (ESPN)

Porter Jr. is a do-it-all forward and has proven that for the Wizards and the Bulls. In a category league, he is a player worth taking in the mid-rounds but in a head-to-head points league, maybe not so much. Porter played in only 15 games last season and averaged 17.5 points a night and an impressive 48.8 three-point percentage in that short span.

He’s yet to average numbers like that for most of a season, and has missed time for injury in every season he’s been in the league. He’s best served as a utility player and I’d rather have Tobias Harris, Jayston Tatum, and Aaron Gordon over Otto in the middle-to-late rounds. He’s going to high, let him fall in your lap if he’s one of your targets after the seventh round.

Thaddeus Young

2018 stats: 12.6 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 52.7% FG

Players Rankings and Average Draft Positions

Position(s): PF, SF

Overall Rank: 93rd (ESPN), 129th (Yahoo)

Power Forward Rank: 24th (ESPN), 41st (Yahoo)

Average Draft Pick: 127th (ESPN), 127 (Yahoo)

ESPN obviously thinks Thad is going to have a better year with Chicago then most do. Young had a good season with a good Indiana Pacers team that overachieved without Victor Oladipo in the Eastern Conference. Young is going to be a role player and a facilitator and scorer off the bench for Chicago and he should be that for your fantasy team too. He shoots the ball at a high percentage, rebounds, and plays veteran turnover-free basketball making him a draft prospect after the 10th round.  One injury and he’s a starter so consider Young a stash player or trade bait down the line.
