5. College nights
While the Chicago Bulls do have promotional nights for students in terms of pricing discounts, there doesn’t look to be anything tangible for giveaways for the various regional schools. There is a big and juicy opportunity for the Bulls to grab onto here.
The Bulls sit right in the middle of a load of Big Ten colleges and good college basketball programs in and around the city of Chicago. Big Ten country really centers around bigger cities in the midwest like Chicago. There’s so many fans of big time college athletic programs in the Big Ten like the Wisconsin Badgers, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Ohio State Buckeyes, etc. in the Windy City.
However, what’s better than getting all those fans involved to unite around one NBA team in this huge bustling city. The Bulls would be a uniting factor among so many collegiate rivals. The Bulls have a more recognizable and storied history than the NBA teams in Ohio and Michigan and could be a centered focus of schools like the Northwestern Wildcats, DePaul Blue Demons, and Loyola-Chicago Ramblers.
The Bulls don’t have a centered promotional giveaway surrounding local colleges that could really draw on a whole new sector of young and emerging fans. They just give out discounted items like tickets and food/drinks. This would be a huge untapped draw for the marketing team heading into this season.
