3. Tyler Dorsey, Shooting Guard
The former Oregon Ducks star guard Tyler Dorsey is surprisingly still sitting without an NBA contract after his time with the Memphis Grizzlies ran up. He was originally a second round pick of the Atlanta Hawks in the 2017 NBA Draft. Last season, he had a stint with the Grizzlies before hitting the free agent market.
According to RealGM, Dorsey signed to play overseas next season with Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Chicago Bulls could likely haul Dorsey in on a value contract, like a two-way deal, to give him a shot back in the NBA. The flashes were there from Dorsey in the past that he could have a bona fide NBA future.
Dorsey is a career 35 percent shooter from three-point range and has one career win share. When he’s on the court, he’s mostly a positive player. That’s hard to find out of a 6-foot-5 shooting guard/wing that could come in and make an impact right away. There’s a good chance that the Bulls could get a good amount of wing depth by signing Dorsey.
The main reason why Dorsey isn’t in the NBA right now is his overall shooting ability. While he’s showed he can hit at a decent clip from downtown, he shot less than 40 percent from the field in his two seasons in the NBA in total. But at 23-years-old, Dorsey might be worth the risk for the Bulls.
