1. Backcourt is deep but confusing
I touched on how Satoransky could contribute to the building young roster for the Chicago Bulls. But he’s entering what should be his prime years of production since he doesn’t have all that much NBA experience in terms of seasons played. Satoransky will be entering his fourth year in the NBA, and his first in a Bulls uniform.
Two factors are building to a great season for Satoransky after getting signed down to a three-year contract worth $30 million total this summer. One was his showing with the Czech Republic in the FIBA World Cup. In shocking fashion, Satoransky led the Czech Republic to a sixth place finish in the World Cup which was one spot above the disappointing United States.
The second big time factor for Satoransky was how his length, efficiency, and floor spacing ability contributes to fill roster holes for the Bulls. He shot 40 percent from three-point range for his NBA career thus far. He could help the deficiencies Boylen had in the starting five when Dunn couldn’t do much on offense.
But Boylen might still have Dunn hanging around, despite all the trade talks. He could also utilize White, Ryan Arcidiacono, and Shaquille Harrison off the bench at the one. He’s got so many options that he could utilize in many different areas. The specific roles are hard to figure out due to lack of depth on the wing and the fact that there’s no clear star on the roster.
