Point Guard

2018-19 Starter: Kris Dunn

Projected 2019-20 Starter: Tomas Satoransky

Last season, point guard actually had more stability than most other positions in the starting lineup for the Chicago Bulls. Since the defensive standout point guard Kris Dunn started most of the games he played in throughout last season, he was able to be the starter on most nights for the Bulls.

Granted, Dunn did play in only 46 games this past regular season for the Bulls. That left the guard combination of Ryan Arcidiacono and Shaquille Harrison with the ability to play more minutes in a Bulls uniform than Dunn last season. But the trio that includes Arcidiacono, Dunn, and Harrison will be returning in 2019-20.

A big change could be looming with how the minutes are distributed at point guard this season under Boylen’s direction. Arcidacono proved last season that he can be a solid contributor off the bench on both ends of the floor. But even he could be behind rookie Coby White and the recently signed Tomas Satoransky when it’s all said and done in minutes this season.

Combine how well Satoransky played in the FIBA World Cup in China earlier this month with how well he finished off last season with the Washington Wizards and you should get a no-brainer for who starts at the one. The Bulls are certainly deep at point guard, but Satoransky and White should be more of the long-term plan at the position than Dunn and Arcidiacono.
