2. Injuries

The concept of staying healthy remained foreign for the Chicago Bulls for most of the last two seasons. Throughout most of the 2018-19 campaign, it seemed like at least half of the starting caliber players were held out due to injury or fatigue at any one time.

There’s already two significant injuries the Bulls dealt with in the past two months. One required surgery for second-year center Wendell Carter Jr. and held him out of playing with the Bulls Vegas Summer League team. The other went to second-year small forward Chandler Hutchison, who is still dealing with a hamstring injury.

While he should be monitored close, Carter Jr. should be able to participate in the preseason slate and Training Camp. Meanwhile, Hutchison is likely to miss most of the preseason and Training Camp so that he’s rested and ready to go for the tip off of the regular season. It’s pivotal that the Bulls have as much wing depth as possible this season.

Load management could be an important part for the coming regular season for the Bulls. This season has to be about developing all the young talent on hand. Part of that means keeping this group healthy. We don’t seem to be off to a strong start so far with Hutchison and Carter Jr.
